Goodbye Ellie

Ellie Reese passed away on Friday, the  6th of February, after a short but fierce battle with cancer. Ellie leaves a legacy of love for Lawrence, their children and spouses, and their grandchildren. Also,  for her friends, her many groups, parties, Mineral, quilting, quilt retreats, Downton Abbey, flowers, learning new things, most any and all activities....the list could go on and on.
Ellie had a gift for making everyone feel like her best friend and for sincerely being interested in other people. She joined both quilt guilds a few years ago and loved being a part of each. She generously volunteered her sweet husband to set up tables and chairs and whatever else was needed. She made several beautiful quilts that her family will cherish and she always participated in whatever was going on.
We all learned so much from her about showing gratitude, about being excited about life, and about the importance of making new friends and learning new skills no matter what stage of life we are in.
We can honor her by following her example in how we treat others and how involved we stay in life, in the quilt guild, in our community, in whatever we are interested in.
